2024 wasn’t a great writing or publishing year for me. The first four months were consumed with moving from my home of 15 years to a new neighbourhood in a major downsize. Then I got COVID for the first time, then I got sick again (I never get sick!) and in December my dear old mum passed away at the age of 93.
So all in all 2024 was a difficult and draining year. I didn’t complete a draft and I published nothing.
Despite all that, I did do some writing, some planning and some rebranding. I recovered, re-named and re-launched my Otherworld series (now the Akashic Archives) and also re-branded myself. In the process of re-branding myself, I realised I had to make a fundamental change to the draft I was writing, so I’ve now gone back to the start and am working through the 33,000+ words I’ve already written and taking the story in a new direction.
I’ve also re-named my WIP to Dawn of the Shadow Wolf. The story is still set in the Otherworld and catches up with some familiar characters from the Akashic Archives, but be prepared for some fresh faces as we trace the lives of the next generation.
In closing, I’ll take this opportunity to remind you that my ebooks are now available on Apple Books, Kobo and Barnes & Noble as well as Amazon. One of my goals for 2025 is to set up my own online store, but I’ll share more on that as it develops.
